After a rail line has been acquired, there remain several steps the purchaser must complete before being granted authority to operate a railway:
Adopt a Code of Operating Rules;
- Safety Management Plans;
- Operating Certification;
- Operating Authority;
- Completion of agreement negotiations;
- Execution of documents;
- Land titles registration, and others.
